Growing up, simple, home-cooked meals were the norm, until Mum went back to work. Then we lived on takeaways! I felt awful, but I didn’t know why.
As a teenager and young adult I lived on two minute noodles and beer. I had a lot of fun, but felt even more unhealthy, still not understanding why until I cut back the partying, started eating well and felt the difference. However, my high stress job meant that truly good health remained elusive.
In my thirties, I adored being step mum to two gorgeous young girls and hoped with all my heart to become a mum, but instead experienced years of stress, loss and grief. During this time, I made what I believed to be healthy choices, but I now understand that many of my choices were actually harming me and my fertility, as there is no such thing as a ‘one size fits all’ approach to health. On the positive side, I experienced powerful, first hand learning about stress management and resilience during my years of fertility struggles.
Finally, my husband and I were feeling incredibly blessed to be awaiting the birth of our adopted son – and I discovered I was pregnant. For the first time I carried this baby to term, and within eight months was mum to TWO beautiful baby boys! This felt like nothing short of a miracle.
These two precious little boys triggered a real passion to achieve optimal health for our family, particularly as both boys have food sensitivities. I was driven to upskill my understanding of health and wellness, and began my health coaching education. The more knowledge I gained the more I realised that what I thought was “healthy” before was far from it! I began to reflect on how different things might have been regarding my fertility challenges had I known then what I know now, and on how many people are still unknowingly making the same mistakes that I made and experiencing ill health because they simply don’t have the information that they need.
I would be honoured to help you navigate your own fertility journey, through practical strategies, loving support, and absolute understanding.
Today, I am passionate about sharing my knowledge to help real people enjoy nutrient and flavour-packed meals made from real food – all from ingredients you can pronounce and recognise!
